Year 10 Art students try Japanese Calligraphy
Year 10 students recently took part in a Japanese drawing and calligraphy workshop with Professor Nobuko Hamano, a leading Japanese artist and calligrapher from Kagawa College, and Hiroku Oshini, a PhD student from Northumbria University.

The students were taught how to write some of the key characters used in the Japanese language using traditional techniques and processes. Examples of the calligraphy work will form an exhibition to be displayed in Hexham General Hospital.
