Hospitality and Catering - Year 10

NVQ – Level 2 (C&G – Multi-Skilled Hospitality Services) – Year 10

This course is suitable as an introduction for students who may want to work in the hospitality and catering industry. Students will complete units in both the kitchen and restaurant areas carrying out practical work which will be assessed. Underpinning knowledge will be tested during written activities and multi-choice question and answer papers.

Half Term 1 (June - July)
  • Course introduction – how evidence is gathered and recorded. Policies and procedures
  • Health and safety training – use of knives, equipment - unit 101(Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment), unit 203 (Maintain food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food)
  • Food safety and personal hygiene – unit 101, 203
  • Work in the RWE (kitchen and restaurant) to produce and serve food to customers
