We are extremely proud of our exam results. Our A Level results continue to improve year on year. 55% of all exam entries were graded A*-B and our average points score per student (the key indicator used to measure sixth form performance) topped 900. This is likely to place us in the top ten schools (independent, state and voluntary aided) in the north east (there are 165 schools with sixth forms) and in the top 100 state schools in England. When the statistics are published we expect to have outperformed all schools in Northumberland, Gateshead and Durham, and all state and voluntary aided schools in Newcastle and North Tyneside too.
Our AS performance improved significantly with pass rates rising by 3% (to well above national average figures) and almost 40% of entries achieving A-B (again well above average).
Despite a downward national trend (especially in English) our GCSE results were excellent - the second best A*-C (En/Ma) percentage in our history.
57% of all entries were graded A*-B and our English and Maths results (at A*-C grade) were an impressive 84% and 82% respectively.
