Queen Elizabeth High School is a thriving 13-18 community high school – current roll 1285 including 410 Sixth Form. QEHS is a high achieving school, ranked 5th in the North-East in the Sunday Times Parent Power listings for 2014-15.
Hexham Middle School is a large and flourishing middle school with 480 pupils on roll.

Our ethos is built around a strong partnership between pupils, parents and the local community and we want to recruit the best staff to help us achieve our vision of being high performing educational institutions.

Both schools are set in the historical market town of Hexham, 25 minutes drive from Newcastle along the Tyne Valley.

ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER (STUDENT PROGRESS & KS5 ACHIEVEMENT)
Salary: L11-15
Required from 1 September 2015

To join the senior leadership team in this high achieving, caring and inclusive school, ranked 5th in the North-East in the Sunday Times Parent Power listings for 2014-15. The quality of our curriculum, and the advice, guidance and support we give to students, are regarded as significant strengths of the school and you will lead all aspects of our work relating to student progression, including option processes from Year 8 onwards, higher education applications, and support for those seeking apprenticeships, work or alternatives to university when they leave. You will also play a significant role in monitoring the academic progress and achievement of our Sixth Form students to ensure that they achieve their potential. You will be joining a highly motivated and committed senior leadership team and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the school and its drive towards an outstanding Ofsted judgment.

You should be an outstanding teacher and already have significant experience and knowledge of achievement and progression issues from working in a leadership role in a high achieving school or sixth form.
