From Friday 18 September, students and staff in our school will be required to wear face coverings in corridors and communal areas. Please review the letter from Mr Atkins that was sent Thursday 17 September.

Frequently Asked Questions

The government guidance hasn’t changed substantially since the end of March, when we were advised against all school trips until further notice, other than to clarify that this advice is now in place for an indefinite period. We have therefore taken the decision to cancel all trips for the remainder of this academic year.

The majority of trip providers are not refunding us, so we have been seeking reimbursement from our insurers to enable us to refund parents. This process is taking some time as our insurers are receiving an exceptionally large number of claims – it is currently taking them several months to pay schools for cancelled trips. We are hopeful that we will be able to refund the Spanish Exchange and Easter 2020 ski trips in the next couple of weeks.

We understand that will be frustrating for you, and would like to apologise for the delay and thank you for your patience. The finance team are working to prepare all payment details so that refunds can be made securely to the original payee(s) as soon insurance monies are received. Please can we ask that you only contact school for urgent trip queries rather than individual updates on trip refunds, and rest assured that we will contact you as soon as we are able to refund you.

Parents who have signed up for ski trips in 2021 have been contacted separately to explain the latest position, and we will keep you informed of any changes or further payment required in relation to these trips.

We have contacted parents of all children entitled to free school meals, but not currently attending school to receive them, to inform them about the national voucher scheme which we will be using from 20 April 2020 during the period of school closure.  If you believe your child is entitle to a free school meal but haven’t had an email from us, please contact admin@qehs.net

We understand that work expectations for Key Workers are fluid in these unprecedented times.

Please email admin@qehs.net with any changes.

No. School is effectively shut to everyone bar those vulnerable students as outlined in the government guidance. School is working under a skeleton staff to support these students and cannot facilitate such requests at this time. All work has been provided via the school website.

There is a link to online learning on the home page. On this page you will find links to each year groups and information on what to do for each subject.

Most subjects are using Moodle as a platform for accessing the learning and interacting with their teachers.

Students can access Moodle via the school website. They should select the ‘Student’ tab in the top right of the home page. They can then select ‘Moodle’ from the list of quick links.

All parents were recently emailed with login instructions for GCSE Pod.  If you have any issues with this, please email admin@qehs.net using the email address that you have registered with the school.

There are two levels of login for MyMaths. All students should have general login details for the site, and login details for their portal.

There are systems in place where students will receive automated feedback or teacher feedback to students via online platforms such as GCSEPod, Seneca and My Maths. Students will also be able to upload work to Moodle for feedback where the subject requires it.

You can also contact admin@qehs.net and your query will be forwarded to the department.

Due to current guidance from Public Health England, the Prom is currently cancelled. We will continue to follow government guidelines and will update parents and students in due course.

Mr Andriot’s letter on 26 March 2020 to Year 11 and Year 13 parents/carers (see below) clarifies the current position for students and parents with regard to exams and qualifications for the summer series 2020.
