GCSE Biology

In preparation for their Paper 1 Biology GCSE, Miss Savage’s Year 11 class finally got to take part in their long-awaited heart dissection 🫀

Working in groups, students explored the structure of a lamb’s heart, identifying key external features and linking their learning to coronary heart disease. They then carefully dissected the heart to locate structures, including the aorta and ventricles, before simulating contractions to observe the heart strings and valves in action

A fantastic hands-on revision session bringing Biology to life ahead of the exam!

Good luck to all of Year 11 tomorrow in their Biology Paper 1 exam – you’re going to smash it! 🍀🧪
