Report information
Please find below additional information to help in understanding the assessment grades given in the spring term reports for some of the year 11 subjects
Subjects not assessed through an exam (NEA)
Art and Design
The Year 11 Art and Design percentages and predicted grades are based on the recent February assessment. All work has been rigorously moderated against the AQA assessment objectives to ensure accuracy and consistency across the cohort.
Students have continued to make progress with their exam preparation, which they may work on until the first exam in the week commencing 16 March 2026. The exam contributes 40% of the overall GCSE grade. Reviewing both the exam preparation and the portfolio (worth 60%) at this stage provides the most reliable measure of each student’s developing knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in Art and Design.
The final deadline for the portfolio is 24 April 2026, which falls in the week after the Easter holidays.
Design and Technology
For design and technology, the data produced is based on the student’s mock exam performance in October and their current performance for the Non-Examined Assessment (coursework). The mock exam represents 50% of the grade and the NEA, the remaining 50% of the grade. The NEA has been assessed to include the “Design development review” section. Please note at this stage, no practical work has been assessed.
