Day 3 Kenya Update

On Monday, we had our first day at Eileen Ngchoch Primary School. It was Independence Day, so there were only around 100 students in. This gave us the chance to have a tour of the school, meet some of the learners, and deliver art and photography lessons, as well as play a quick game of football (they’re absolutely ruthless and don’t care about flooring people!).

We also started hacking the floor in the Grade 9 (Year 10) classroom ready for tiling — which Patrick said was the hardest he has ever worked!

We all took part in a Swahili lesson, which has given us loads of new words to use (uwaje is George’s favourite).

When we got back, it was packed: football with Nacho, who is now Rhys’ new best mate; pranks on Miss Savage; and round one of the pub quiz — history beginning with A, afcon badges, guess the bear, guess the chocolate bar, and a unique round of “guess which teacher…”.

Can you guess which of us is related to Sting?
