Y10 Cricket

Last night the Y10’s played their first game in the new state school national cricket competition – the Knight Stokes cup v Ponteland.

We won the coin toss and put Ponteland into bat. They made 93 for 3 wickets off 20 overs with Sonny S (Y9) being the pick of the bowlers with 1 wicket for 10 runs off 4 overs, including a wicket maiden. The other wickets came from Francesco H and Noah A.

We made a brisk start in the chase with Dan C knocking a quick 23 and Francesco H playing an excellent innings of 50 before being caught out. Despite a mini-collapse, we successfully knocked off the required runs with 7 wickets down in the 13th over.

An excellent start following a great result last week against Dame Allan’s; well done to all players who fielded and managed the games exceptionally well.

Respect. Engage. Aspire.
