Ethan from Year 12 took part in the Great North Run on Sunday.
When a last-minute injury sidelined his dad, Ethan didn’t hesitate to step up to the starting line. With zero prior training, he threw himself into the electric atmosphere of the Great North Run, taking on the gruelling 13.1 mile course alongside his older brother Josh, a former QEHS pupil.
Adding to the challenge, and the crowd’s delight, they both completed the race in full fancy dress. With Josh running as Mario and Ethan taking on the role of Luigi, Ethan crossed the finish line in a very impressive 3 hours and 7 minutes, just ahead of his brother.
Ethan’s incredible last-minute effort helped the pair raise over £2,300 for Tynedale Hospice at Home, providing vital support to a beloved local charity. It was a remarkable show of determination, brotherhood, and community spirit.
