Vacancy – Specialist SEMH Teacher

Queen Elizabeth High School wishes to appoint a Specialist SEMH Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an initiative to support the education of some of our school’s most vulnerable learners in an environment which is attuned to their needs. The successful candidate will be driven and enthusiastic about supporting young people. Potential can be as good as experience and we are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas and energy to the role.

Whilst the SEMH provision will be part of our school community, day to day operations will be self-contained. The successful candidate will be fundamental in organising, shaping and overseeing the education of these vulnerable learners. Working alongside other QEHS teaching and support staff, the SEMH teacher will deliver a rounded curriculum to give the best possible opportunities for success to those within the provision. You would be joining an established, friendly and supportive team with a well-established collegial ethos.

Queen Elizabeth High School is a friendly, welcoming, successful, mixed comprehensive with a proud history dating back to Elizabethan times. Our ‘outstanding eagerness to promote good learning’ is drawn directly from the original charter granted to the people of Hexham in 1599 to educate the town’s young people. It forms the basis of our ethos today, ‘Respect, Engage, Aspire’, which centres on our belief in the highest academic standards for everyone and our valuing of education in its broadest sense. There is much that is already very good at our school: confident, well-behaved learners, dedicated, loyal staff and supportive parents.
