We took our new Year 10 GCSE Drama class to watch the amazing Live production of War Horse at Theatre Royal in Newcastle last week.
We got the train there and back (all ran on time), in brilliant blue skies making for a delightful picnic lunch before heading into the amazing theatre.
Students loved the performance, which is a stunning adaptation of the novel by Michael Morpurgo. A spectacle of incredible life sized horse puppetry, moving characters, talented musicians and a comical goose! Set during WW1 against a backdrop of powerful projections, visceral lighting and incredible sound. There was laughter, jump scares and tears (mostly from Mrs Pollock).
The students loved the experience and we were very proud of their conduct throughout the experience.
What a fantastic new drama cohort!
Respect. Engage. Aspire.
