That’s a Wrap

It’s been a busy and exciting couple of terms in the Drama Department, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work, creativity and dedication shown by all of our students. From devised pieces to scripted performances and written exams, everyone has achieved so much – here are just a few highlights from this year’s practical work:

Year 10 Devised Performances
An impressive range of original pieces inspired by stimuli including evacuation and witchcraft. Students created imaginative and engaging performances full of creativity and confidence.
Year 12 Devised Performances
Inspired by The Visit and Brecht, students explored powerful political themes and social commentary through dynamic performances featuring choreography, warfare and even rap!
Year 13 Scripted Performances
Two contrasting productions – a comedy and a tragedy – alongside individual monologues and outstanding contributions from costume, lighting and sound designers.

We are so proud of this talented group of performers and creatives who have built friendships, resilience, confidence and teamwork skills throughout their journey in Drama.

Congratulations to every student involved. We wish our Year 11 and Year 13 students the very best for their next steps, and we can’t wait to welcome our new Year 10 and Year 12 cohorts to see what magic they create on stage next year!
