The U15’s rounded off a very impressive run in the Knight Stokes Cup by reaching the last 8 schools in the country before being knocked out by Altrincham School.
We played Richmond in the morning and secured a place in the last 8 by beating them in what was our best team performance of the whole season.
We batted first and made an impressive 180 for 6, with runs coming from Fran H, Patrick F and Lucas P.
In an excellent display of fielding and bowling from our lads, best team performance yet in terms of catches and taking chances, we restricted them to 132 runs for 9 wickets and progressed to the last 8 schools in the country.
Wickets came from Fran H, Patrick F, Sonny S, and a special shout to all who took impressive catches – Billy B (a one handed over the head special), Lucas P, Fran H and Ben T.
Unfortunately, we didn’t perform as well as we could in the round of the last 8 against Altrincham and only made 65 runs all out. They knocked them off with no wickets and overs spare.
An outstanding performance and the lads were exceptional at all phases of the competition, playing within the spirit of the game, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they all conducted themselves when both winning and losing and in some challenging situations. Mr Bourne is especially proud of how you adapted and learned to produce some very high-quality cricket and you never stopped trying. Hold your heads high, and I hope you all look back fondly on what was an amazing run!
