Staff at Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham, are delighted with the results achieved by students in their examinations this year. The school presented over 300 students for a wide range of qualifications. The majority of students have achieved the results required to continue to sixth form. Others have successfully gained entry to colleges and apprenticeships due to their results. 85%
29 of our new year 12 students took part in the recent Intermediate Biology Olympiad. 3 students were commended, 5 highly commended, and an amazing 7 achieved silver- putting them in the top 15% of entrants in this National competition! Our silver award winners were: Matthew G, Elodie H, Robbie J, Jonah B, Ella-Mae P, Joshua W, and Hannah S.

Good luck to our Silver D of E students who began their qualifying expedition this morning. The students will spend three days and two nights in the Lake District carrying all of their gear and completing a minimum of 7 hours journeying per day. Year 11 students are heading to Morocco this week for their school challenge expedition. A few weeks ago, they had a very wet and muddy practice walk up Blencathra in the Lake District!
