Our year 12 geography students have just completed their first familiarisation trip to the Ouseburn in Newcastle. They have started the process of designing an investigation to research for their A-level coursework. Today the Violence Reduction Unit of Northumbria Police were in school to speak to Y9 students on the risks associated with carrying knives and the dangers of being involved in ‘Joint Enterprise’. Last weekend, QEHS took over 60 rowers to Durham to race the first regatta of the season. We came away with 7 wins overall with incredibly competitive racing from all crews. Alastair Campbell visited the school today to talk to students about the importance of being engaged with politics. His talk was interesting and varied and he also fielded lots of insightful and sometimes challenging questions by the students.
