The Trustees of Hadrian Learning Trust have agreed to consult on a proposal to change the admission arrangements for Queen Elizabeth High School and Hexham Middle School from September 2023.  For full details and a link to respond to the consultation, please see the letter and proposed admissions policy here (PDF). 

Y12 Northumbria University Supported Entry

Northumbria University are pleased to announce applications are now open for NU Entry, a supported entry scheme for students in year 12. NU Entry is a two-year scheme designed to support students on their journey to university. The first year of the programme focusses on supporting exploration of university choices, development of key skills for undergraduate study and application preparation.

Face Coverings: Reminder

Please remember that students should be wearing face masks in communal areas. Please bring your own mask into school. Students should also continue to take lateral flow tests twice a week.

Senior Maths Challenge Results

Congratulations to our students who took part in this year’s Senior Maths Challenge. The results are excellent! Everyone who took part gained an award: Kell Johnston, May Thomas, Tom Barrett and Ben Norfolk from Year 13 and Hew Hawley from Year 12 achieved a Gold award and an automatic entry to the Senior Kangaroo challenge. Anti-Bullying Week, Monday 15 – Friday 19 November Mrs Fletcher-Woods will be taking assembly. To raise awareness of the issue of bullying, the Anti Bullying Alliance ask that everyone wears odd socks on Monday 15th November. We are not raising money and students and staff are free to take part if they wish. See poster below! More information is available
