Autism Support Workshop

Autism Support Workshop for parents and carers of children and young people, aged 5-18, who have received a diagnosis. The CYGNET programme is delivered by staff from the Autism Support Team. Attending a Cygnet autism support programme gives parents and carers an opportunity to share their journey, and develop their understanding of autism and consider ways to support their child.

Student Success – Ice Hockey

Aaron H from year 9 co-captained his team in a UK wide under 14s hockey tournament in Sheffield this weekend. Aaron and his team beat Milton Keynes in the final to win the tournament. Aaron won fastest-skater in the skills competition and the tournaments MVP (most valuable player) Well done Aaron! #Repsect #Engage #Aspire

Goodbye Year 13

Yesterday we said goodbye to our wonderful year 13 with a celebration assembly delivered by Mr Brown, and breakfast in the Winter Gardens. We are so proud of the hard work and dedication they have put in during the last two years in sixth form. They have been an absolute pleasure to have in school. Year 13, you are all amazing.

Student Success

Well done to Henry W and Henry M who have challenged themselves to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest as part of the extra-curricular DofE programme. DofE Silver

Last week, three Silver Duke of Edinburgh teams enjoyed a successful practice expedition to the Yorkshire Dales. The students camped and walked for two days and nights, beginning in Appletreewick and finishing in Malham Tarn, Thoralby or Semer Water. Final Kenya Update

Tuesday was our final day in Kenya Before heading to the airport, we went back to the Great Rift Valley view point, better weather meant even more amazing views this time round. We then went to The Giraffe Centre where we had the opportunity to meet a herd of Rothschild’s giraffes, feed them and learn about the conservation efforts out

REA Week Update

The enrichment programme was centred on the personal development of the students and designed to enable students to access the wider curriculum. The programme focussed on careers, life skills, enterprise, forensic science, performing arts, fashion, mock trial and a range of different activities. We also held our first house sports day with students participating in a range of different activities

NHS Work Experience

Thank you to the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust for the fantastic week they arranged for 6 of our sixth formers last week.
