Red Nose Day 2019

We will be supporting Red Nose Day by holding a Non-Uniform Day on Friday 15 March 2019! Donations from Years 9, 10 and 11 (suggested £1 minimum) will be collected during registration on Friday. Sixth Form students will be able to hand in their donations to the Sixth Form Café, LRC and Pastoral Office.

Vattenfall Visit

To celebrate International Women’s Day last week, a group of our Year 10 girls had the opportunity to visit the Hexham office of Vattenfall UK, one of the world’s leading wind power developer and operators. The students took part in interactive sessions about women in leadership, the environmental and social impacts of a wind farm project, and inspirational women. Thank

Northern Harmony Visit

Over 100 students took part in a challenging but highly enjoyable set of workshops with the American folk choir, Northern Harmony. These young and exciting musicians shared songs from a wide range of cultures and languages, and then – having really impressed our students with their energetic and skilled performances – went on to share those skills in very effective

Tyne Valley Film Festival

QEHS Sixth Form Creative Media students have been given the brilliant opportunity to showcase their short films on the big screen at the Forum Cinema, Hexham, on Sunday 31 March 2019 as part of Tyne Valley Film Festival. Please visit the Forum Cinema’s website to book tickets.

German Exchange

Our German exchange students and their exchange partners have been on a trip to Edinburgh today. This year marks the 10th anniversary of our exchange with the Steinhagener Gymnasium!

Summer Exam Timetable

The exam timetable for the summer GCSE and A Level exams is now available. The exam period starts on Monday 13 May 2019; students must remain available up to and including 26 June 2019 due to the National Contingency Day set by the exam boards and JCQ. U15 Rugby Success

A brilliant result for our U15 boys rugby team recently: in the County Cup tier final, which took place on Tuesday 26 February 2019, they beat St Cuthbert’s 69 – 24. Fantastic score, well done boys!

Year 10 Maths Feast

Eight of our Year 10 students participated in the latest Maths Feast, a competition held at Northumbria University where teams of students test their maths skills with an all-you-can-eat feast of problems! Our students came joint second place which is a fantastic result! Well done to all involved!
