Welcome to the Queen Elizabeth High School Virtual Sixth Form Open Evening.
Please watch our Welcome videos first, then the Pastoral videos (there is one for current QEHS students and one for students who would be new to QEHS in the Sixth Form). You can then browse our curriculum videos and learn all about the courses available for our Sixth Form students.

Welcome & Curriculum Overview
Miss Innes, Deputy Headteacher, has recorded a two-part introductory presentation that you can watch below. The first part explores what is different about being in Sixth Form compared to Years 9–11, and the second part discusses next steps, the Sixth Form curriculum, Sixth Form entry requirements, and option choice interviews.
Pastoral Care and Student Well-being
Mr Brown, Pastoral Leader for Sixth Form, describes the support available to students from the Pastoral Team at QEHS, and some of our current students discuss the transition to Sixth Form.

Students Who Are New To QEHS
Next year, we move into our brand new, state of the art facilities on the west of our site. Feeding off our iconic, grade two listed Hydro building, which itself is being fully refurbished, will be the new high school and middle school buildings, which will form a wonderful cloistered quad at the heart of our schools.
Maintaining each school’s distinctiveness, we will establish a clear sense of progression through the different phases of a young person’s educational journey, providing each individual with a ‘home of their own’.
The facilities will be exceptional and will include high quality classrooms and learning spaces, performing arts provision that includes a theatre, an 8-court sports block, two all-weather pitches as well as a grass rugby pitch, and a woodland garden. This will be an inspiring and purposeful learning environment, that will serve our students well for many years to come.
Our Sixth Form Curriculum
Sixth Form Prospectus
Our Sixth Form Prospectus includes a timetable of events for transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form, an explanation of the qualifications we offer, details of our entry requirements, and detailed information about every subject offered at QEHS.
Explore Our Subjects
Below is a list of all the subjects that we offer at Sixth Form – over 30 subjects that include A Level, BTEC, OCR and additional ‘Enhancement’ qualifications.
For each subject, the Curriculum Leader has recorded a presentation explaining everything about that course. They also speak to current QEHS students who discuss why they chose that subject, what they like about it, and where they want to progress with it after QEHS.
A Level/BTEC/OCR Subjects
The below video, ‘What is a BTEC?’ has been published by Pearson, the awarding body for BTEC qualifications, to help explain more about BTECs and how they work.
