QEHS rowers competed in the Talkin Tarn Regatta. Talkin Tarn is a beautiful small lake situated near Brampton in Cumbria. It is our last local competition of the year and it’s always a firm favourite amongst the QEHS rowers. QEHS took a large contingent across to the event and it is always a long day for athletes and coaches.
QEHS crews performed brilliantly all day. The club recorded 10 wins across the event. The following crews won their events: Op 4+ Alexis, Mack, Felix and James; Op 1x James H; WJ14 4x+ Gaby, Ella, Flo and Annabelle; WJ15 2x Maeve and Bella; W4+ Isla, Annabelle, Marta and Maeve; Mx8 + Mack, Alexis, Alec, Alex, Millie, Beth, Hannah, Astrid and cox Constance; WJ16 2x Ariel and Isla; J16 1x Markus, MX 2x Benji and Bella.
We are now building to our last competition of the year, which is British Champions at Nottingham. Champs is always an action-packed four days, and is a hard logistical task for the coaches who deal with multiple boats for competitors over the four days. However, it is one of our highlight events and brings the rowing season two finish. We look forward to seeing how well our form from Talkin Tarn is converted into racing over 2K. Good luck to all our competitors racing at the British Champs.
Respect. Engage. Aspire.
