Rowing Club Cake Stall This Saturday on Tyne Green, 9.30am – 12.30pm
QEHS rowers competed in the Talkin Tarn Regatta. Talkin Tarn is a beautiful small lake situated near Brampton in Cumbria. It is our last local competition of the year and it’s always a firm favourite amongst the QEHS rowers. QEHS took a large contingent across to the event and it is always a long day for athletes and coaches. QEHS
QEHS competed at the famous Durham Regatta this weekend. The Durham Regatta dates back to 1834 and is the second-oldest regatta in England after Chester, predating the Henley Royal Regatta by five years. We had a large number of athletes competing across a range of categories, making for a long day full of complex organisation. The coaches deserve great credit
Last weekend saw QEHS rowers competing on their home river at the Hexham Regatta. QEHS had over 90 rowers competing across the day, in a wide variety of crews. This is a great testament to the commitment to rowing shown by the athletes in our club.Hexham Regatta always draws a good crowd of local people, who come down to watch
The first weekend of half term saw QEHS Rowers competing at the National Schools Regatta. This competition is held at the iconic venue of Dorney Lake in the shadow of Windsor Castle. Dorney Lake was created for the London 2012 Olympics and it is still amazing to see our rowers head under the bridge with the Olympic rings on it
