Tees Regatta

QEHS rowers are in peak race season. This weekend saw them move from the Wear to the Tees to compete. Captain Millie sent the following report:

On Saturday, QEHS rowing club returned to Tees regatta after a 2 year break. Tees Regatta is slightly different to other events because it consists of laned racing and every race is a straight final. QE embraced this format and made it an amazing day of racing with QE winning 13 out of the 19 races that they entered!! A massive congratulations must be said to the year 9 rowers since every year 9 who raced on Saturday won at least one race!! Well done to everyone who raced, it might be a new record of wins!

It is brilliant to hear that our newest rowers are stepping up and performing under pressure. It is great to see so many of our rowers out doing what they love.

This weekend sees our rowers head to the National Schools Regatta held on Dorney Lake, the venue for the London Olympics. The racing here will be top class. We wish our rowers the best of luck for this event.
