Construction Quantity Surveyor

Commercial Trainee with Banks Group – Applications Open
Applications are now open to apply for our Commercial Trainee position. You will be based at our Head Office in Durham, supporting the commercial team with the effective management of costs for our new Banks Homes sites, and ensure targets are met by managing and controlling the budget and valuations. You will be involved in the full life cycle of the development from assisting with the tender process and analysis through to site close out. Another key element of the role will be to support with management of closed site budgets, whilst developing a strong understanding of the housebuilding process and commercial best practices.
In addition, you will also support the Senior Buyer to effectively manage the delivery of materials and plant on a site-by-site basis.
You will complete a 4 year apprenticeship programme with Northumbria University to gain a Construction Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship, attending University 1-3 days per semester. This will support your development to set you on the path to becoming an exceptional Quantity Surveyor.

Starting as an apprentice Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience whilst working towards a relevant qualification or degree through an apprenticeship to further develop your skills and knowledge. We are partnering with local Universities and Colleges, and throughout your apprenticeship programme, you will engage in on-the-job training, coursework and assessments, to support your development to attain a qualification or degree while gaining invaluable work experience.

UNW – Applications Open
Over three years, you’ll work towards your Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification while gaining first-hand experience from day one.
To apply for our apprenticeship programme, you’ll either be currently studying for your A Levels with predicted grades of at least three Bs, or have already achieved those grades. You’ll also need a minimum grade 6 (B) in both GCSE Maths and English Language.
By the end of the programme, you’ll hold AAT Levels 3 and 4 and be in a strong position to move on to a higher-level qualification on the path to becoming a fully-fledged chartered accountant.
