QEHS Rowing Club took 48 competitors to Durham Regatta last weekend. Durham Regatta dates to 1834. It is the second oldest regatta in England after Chester Regatta. It predates the Henley Royal Regatta by 5 years. The event has a real festival feel, with live music and food stalls along the course.As a Regatta, the racing is head-to-head, meaning that

QEHS year 9 year group have been finishing their KS3 drama lessons with some workshops which explored costume, lighting and set design. In the costume design workshop, students rose to the challenge of using a ‘lucky dip’ bag, where they had to use every item to design their new character of ‘half human/half ogre’! A Cheerleading group of Y9 and Y10 students called the ‘Derwent Valley Allstars, ’ which includes five of our students, was awarded a place at The Summit, the most prestigious competition on the globe, thanks to their fabulous competition results here in the UK.
