Last week we welcomed spring with a fantastic musical evening. The concert featured talented students from QEHS and HMS, all of whom delivered a dazzling performance. The programme included pieces from the Wind Band, Show Choir, Soul Band, Jazz Ensemble, QEHS Choir, as well as the Violin and Flute Ensembles, alongside a variety of impressive solos and duets. Teddy in year 11, has retained his place in the Red Bulls Academy for the final U16 block. Over recent weeks, he’s competed in the Prem Next Gen Festival at Warwick University, facing Exeter Chiefs, Harlequins and Bristol Bears, as well as the Northern Triangular against Sale and Yorkshire academies. Year 10 students Lucas, Dan and Amir represented South West Northumberland in the U15 NSFA Inter‑Association Finals on Saturday, securing a 1–0 victory against Newcastle. Well done! Respect. Engage. Aspire.
On Friday, a combined Year 9 and 10 girls’ team took part in a football festival in Newcastle. They came away with one win, two draws and two losses, but their performance was fantastic, particularly with several players stepping up a year. They represented the school superbly.
