In preparation for their Paper 1 Biology GCSE, Miss Savage’s Year 11 class finally got to take part in their long-awaited heart dissection 🫀 Working in groups, students explored the structure of a lamb’s heart, identifying key external features and linking their learning to coronary heart disease. They then carefully dissected the heart to locate structures, including the aorta and ventricles,
Last week we welcomed spring with a fantastic musical evening. The concert featured talented students from QEHS and HMS, all of whom delivered a dazzling performance. The programme included pieces from the Wind Band, Show Choir, Soul Band, Jazz Ensemble, QEHS Choir, as well as the Violin and Flute Ensembles, alongside a variety of impressive solos and duets. Our year 12 sport leaders and sport diploma students were fortunate to attend emergency first aid training this week. The training was delivered by the North East Ambulance Service.
