We are holding a talk about apprenticeships. The talk is for parents/carers of all Year 11 students who might like to apply for an apprenticeship to start from this summer. Alongside school guidance, we have ‘Ask Apprenticeships’ presenting on local and regional opportunities. The presentation will take place on Wednesday 13 February 2019, 6.30pm to 7.30pm, in the school Theatre.

Our Year 12 Fine Art students have been working on some fantastic drawing studies this term, the Department is extremely impressed with the high quality of work that they have produced. Season’s Greetings from the QEHS Art Department!
We are delighted that Caitlin McCleary, one of our former Year 13 students, won an award for her performance in the 2018 Salters Advanced Chemistry exam. She recently attended the Salters’ Institute Awards Ceremony on Friday 7 December 2018, an evening celebrating high levels of excellence within the science education sector. Congratulations Caitlin – a fantastic achievement!

Year 13 Biologists visited the Centre for Life on Monday/Tuesday this week to carry out an analysis of one of their own genes. The students isolated DNA, and carried out PCR and a restriction digest before carrying out gel electrophoresis in order to work out which alleles they have. This supports them with their work on gene technology and has
